OI!

so....

it's been awhile since i've posted.

in that time:
i never got the editing done on the video of the bracket install; i decided it wasn't important.
i've been on several gigs most of which i've lost money on. (the police at the gorge amphitheatre, "the 25th annual putnam county spelling bee" at yakima, carrie underwood at yakima, sasquatch festival, etc.)
and...
i've secured a local job as an installer with my ISP; that datacom experience is a good thing right now.

i've decided that 2 of the companies i've been working for as a stage technician need to have our relationship changed. basically it means that i will bid on gigs but will not, at the drop of the hat, go.

i'm old...

it just takes me longer to recover and get back on a daylight schedule.

i haven't really told them yet but i'm not in the business of losing money on other's gigs; losing money on the ones i produce is fine. i think they'll understand.

i've also come to a defined conclusion...

the camper is a dead stick.

for every repair i make on it, two more issues develop. it's fine for occasional use but i'm not going to plan on keeping it in one piece.

i'll be starting on a design for a structurally sound, fifth wheel trailer that will meet all of my needs. once the design is finished i will begin to assemble the parts required to build it. i do have a water heater, furnace, and stove that work wonderfully and they will probably be salvaged from the camper as it is systematically destroyed for disposal.

at this point the camper houses my gig and paintball gear and some odd things that i had planned to integrate but never got that far.

right now it's costing me in fuel; i got no economy with the sail on board.

(i'm a rigger so) i'll be working up a sling to lift it off with a boom type forklift somewhat soon. i'm looking for a trailer to put it on so i'm not just leaving it somewhere.

i need the cargo capacity of the truck soon because of gigs that i'm putting together but i'm still planning on using the camper for certain things. simply put i gotta get it off but still usable.

so for now i'm limiting my workkamping experiences to 80mi or so and my experiences will be slowed down to a crawl.
